Comedy Writing

The next project Mr.Sanderl's Gifted and Talented class is working on is comedy writing and comedic performance. Well, you need to have a sense a of humor when performing. Having a sense of humor is very important, it's important because you need your audience to have fun. Sometimes you can observe how other people tell jokes. Most outgoing people are very funny. You can also say a special part in a different voice tone.

A few tips are, well first you have to know what kind of audience your writing this narrative for. Next, when you write a narrative you don't always have to come up with a new comedy narrative, you can take something that happened to you and turn it into a joke. Try using a funny experience you could either use the funny experience or maybe it can give you ideas. When going over you narrative you have to see if it makes you laugh, if it doesn't maybe you should add something funny. Make sure your comedic monologue is very organized, or else it won't be told correctly, then it wouldn't be funny. My last tip is to make sure your visuals are organized and they make sense too.

My comedic monologue is about my brother. I chose my brother because he has these super funny moments called "blonde" moments. Let me tell you about his "blonde moments". First of all, he calls them blonde moments because he watches a lot of television In the shows he watches blonde girls are usually air heads. So when he says something funny it's usually what a blonde girl from these shows would say. The most funniest thing he said was "America is the fifty first state". When he said he made me confused at first but when I really thought about what he said I started bust laughing. That is why my brother is the main topic in my comedic monologue.

Motivational Poster

The current project Mr. Sanderl's GT class is working on are Motivational Posters. For this project there are a few requirements we need to have in our poster. The requirements are that we need to have two text layers, which are Quotes and Manifesto. We need four image layers, which is our
three symbolic images and our portrait. For our design requirements,we need to kern both text layers so there are no blank spaces. We need a triadic color scheme which is one dominant color and two harmonious accent colors. Last you need to have visual balance, which are your blending options on your text layers.

Thats what you need to in order to finish the Motivational Poster. For me doing this project was pretty stressful. Obviously it wasn't easy! I had to go through a lot of challenges. My challenges were kerning and the color scheme. First I had to think of personal quotes that would've motivated me. Then I had to think of a personal manifesto, that I could tell myself that would motivate me. Next I had to kern. Kerning was the hard part, especially when you have to make sure that there are no holes or big spaces. I tried my best at kerning, but Photo shop was too confusing for me. After I tried my best at kerning I added my symbolic photos, but I didn't quite get my portrait up. After I turned in my unfinished work, when I went back to finish up Motivational Poster I started by placing my pictures.
